| Anthony responds to Alun and Susanne's threat of legal action | ||
Dear Alun and Susanne, Thanks for your letter of 10 May 2001. I would like to remind you that the publicity leaflet you produced was printed without adequate consultation with other people involved in the project and indeed named on the leaflet. This is your responsibility. I do not feel that your view of, and interest in, the leaflet should necessarily prevail over those of other participants. Nor do I feel obliged to issue a leaflet that appears to misrepresent any of the participants. You were invited to consider the objections raised by Roman and me and make a plan, admittedly late in the day. The cancellation of the project was your decision. I was happy to pay Alexander and Barbara's expenses out of good will, seeing as they had got caught up in a dispute which was not of their making. In the same spirit of good will, and not under any obligation, I offered to contribute to your expenses. You continue to refer to the document headed 'A New Business Centre in Central London' as a 'contract'. If so, you will have to convince me how you have upheld your part of the bargain. I would like to point out that the 'allowance' mentioned in this document should not be construed as an obligation. Furthermore, the meaning of this document, as I outlined in my letter of 3 May 2001, is supported and borne out by the experience of previous and subsequent residencies at ACI. With best wishes, Anthony Auerbach |
