Explore the hidden spaces of Nottingham via an alternative city tour fusing new technology and live performance created by internationally acclaimed Austrian artist Willi Dorner and Nottingham’s award-winning Mixed Reality Lab. Starting at Broadway Cinema, Anywhere Somewhere Everywhere takes to the city streets all day from Wednesday 23 April to Saturday 26 April 2008.
Discover the Nottingham you didn’t know existed on a guided tour where you are the guide. Unlock unknown spaces and overhear stories these spaces tell. Anywhere Somewhere Everywhere is an interactive conversation with new technology from fingerprint to footprint - between the visitor and the visited, past and present, private and public. Follow your shadow. Find an ending without meeting. Rediscover the streets you walk every day.
Each tour starts at Broadway and is designed for one person at a time. Tours last one hour approx. Booking and a deposit is required but the tour is free.

Internationally acclaimed Austrian artist Willi Dorner continues his fascination with the politics of public space and the role new technology can play in the re-awakening of a sense of community. For Anywhere Somewhere Everywhere, he has opened doors locked to the public, attempted to meet the Lord Mayor and explored Nottingham’s cave network to ask: What do we really know about where we live, what belongs to us and where do we belong?
Willi Dorner says of the project ‘At the moment I’m trying to get into buildings. I’ve filmed hidden spaces in order to learn more about the city we live in and to attempt to open it up. I want to have a conversation with the city about our behaviour and show people the Nottingham they don’t get to see everyday. From tunnels underneath us to a private library to the nightlife on a Saturday’
Anywhere Somewhere Everywhere follows Willi Dorner’s numerous projects in public spaces in the UK and mainland Europe including a digital walking tour of Sneinton Market in Nottingham commissioned by NottDance06. This project marks a continued collaboration between Willi Dorner and a team of artists with Mixed Reality Lab – winners of the 2007 Nottingham Creative Business Awards for New Media - based at the University of Nottingham.
