Daniela Lehner - mezzo-soprano / Paul Cibis - piano
Daniela Lehner, one of the ACF’s New Artists, studied in Linz, Vienna, Salzburg and the Guildhall London, is definitely making her mark on the London music scene. She has appeared in recitals at the Wigmore Hall and Carnegie Hall, and in 2008 will make her Royal Opera House debut as Hermia in Britten’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream.
Her recital at Westminster School will include Lieder by Korngold, Kienzl, Beethoven, Schubert and Schumann (Frauenliebe und Leben).

The Hans Gál Society
Annivesary concert ot mark the 20th anniversary of the death of Hans Gál (1890-1987)
The Austrian-born composer Hans Gál was forced to flee to Britain in 1938 following the Nazi annexation of Austria. He settled in Edinburgh, where he remained until his death, a much-loved teacher, performer and composer.
The recently-formed Ensemble Hans Gál – Shelley Levy (clarinet), Mark Nixon (piano), Katalin Kertész (violin) – have just returned from an acclaimed concert tour of South Africa and will make their Scottish debut with this concert. The programme will include works by Schumann, Khachaturian and Gál.

West Norfolk Music Festival:
Pre-concert talk on the music of Korngold
Following his highly successful Lecture … “The Last Prodigy” … on the music of Korngold last May, the festival welcomes back Brendan G. Carroll to give an ‘illustrated talk’ on the music of Korngold that is to be performed throughout the forthcoming “Festival”!
This is the second annual festival of classical music promoted by the West Norfolk Music Society. This nine day Festival (7 September – 15 September) will offer chamber music, both vocal and instrumental. The festival Concerts will take place at All Saints Church, Stoke Ferry (Norfolk).
Additional events will consist of two pre-concert talks (5 & 6 September).
